About the electronics industry awards

The premier industry event of its kind, the Electronics Industry Awards recognises outstanding people, products, and business practices in the electronics sector.

After the successful launch of the awards in 2018 industry professionals were invited to give feedback on their experience of the inaugural event.  As a result the organisers implemented a number of exciting changes for 2019. The ceremony was moved to the summer and expanded to allow more time for networking with friends and colleagues.  The awards were then presented after a lavish three-course luncheon for all the attendees.

Other changes included the introduction of an industry panel to the decision-making process for the Product and Individual categories. The judges’ scores, along with the votes of industry professionals, were used to determine the winners.

For the Business Awards the decision remained in the hands of industry professionals with the winners being chosen entirely by an online vote.

The results of the 2019 awards were announced at London’s Tower Hotel on Friday 21st June 2019.

The annual event is organised by Datateam Business Media in association with CIE Magazine and supported by Electronics Magazine and ecsn, and the next iteration will take place at the Tower Hotel in London on Thursday 24 September 2020.

Entering is simple – and free!

Entries for the 2020 awards will open in December 2019 when you will be able to enter/nominate a business, employee or product via our fuss-free online form.

Subject to meeting the necessary criteria, all entries and nominations will proceed to the decision-making stage.

You – the industry – can vote through a secure online voting process. In the Product and Individual Awards, the combined total of your votes and the score from our judging panel will produce five finalists and ultimately one winner. For the Business Awards, the winners will be decided by your votes alone.

  • BWW Communications

“BWW and our clients really enjoyed the Electronics Industry Awards – a nice boost to our industry and a welcome addition to the calendar.”

  • Swordfish Marketing

“We were impressed with the way the awards evening was staged. We’ve attended a few over the decades and this was among the best. The venue was ideal. The evening’s comedian host turned out to be a true asset and we enjoyed seeing him bamboozled by some of the industry’s preposterous product names. The catering was first class too – that was unexpected. Best of all is that the award votes came from the public, not an expert panel. We like that as it gives credibility. In all, the evening was great fun and excellent value.”

  • Napier

“As the only awards to be voted on by the industry, the Electronics industry Awards are highly prestigious. The quality of attendees on the night – a who’s who of electronics – reflected their importance.”

    Mike Maynard
    Managing Director
  • RS Components

“The Electronics Industry Awards night was a fantastic celebration with great recognition for the high performers. The RS team were proud to win in the Academic Support category, and receiving a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Distributor of the Year category. The venue was very accessible and the food was outstanding too. We really enjoyed the evening!”
