Datateam Business Media has announced the launch of the Electronics Industry Awards in association with CIE Magazine, Electronics Magazine and What’s New In Electronics. The awards are designed to recognise the many successes in the electronics industry, celebrating outstanding companies, people and products.
The Electronics Industry Awards will take place at the National Conference Centre in Birmingham on 25th September 2018, and the winners will be decided entirely by an industry vote, giving the experts a voice on who they think should win.
There has been a lot of call for the launch of these awards. Amy Wallington, editor, CIE Magazine, says: “So far there has been a really good response to the launch of the awards. We have a range of different categories to cater to different markets with the aim to include as many people as possible. We work in such a diverse industry and having met first hand some of the amazing people and seen their innovative products, I am confident these awards will recognise the very best.”
The awards are split into three sections: Business Awards, Product Awards and Special Award. The Business Awards recognise those who go above and beyond within their sector and companies that should be recognised for what they bring to the market. These categories include: ‘Distributor of the Year’, ‘Electronics Manufacturer of the Year’, ‘Excellence in Innovation’, ‘Environmental Leadership’, ‘Best Customer Service’, ‘Academic Support’, and ‘Most Outstanding PR Agency’.
The Product Awards celebrate the excellence of a range of products from different markets within the electronics industry. This section recognises the best products within aerospace/military/defence, automotive, displays, enclosures, engineering development/design tools, interconnection, Internet of Things, power, test, measurement & inspection, and embedded solution.
The Special Award, Industry Personality, recognises an individual who has made a significant contribution to the industry, raising the profile of the industry, improving the supply chain, boosting their company and working closely with their customers and suppliers.
Nominations for the awards are now open. Anyone can enter into any of the relevant categories on the Electronics Industry Awards website. They may also nominate other companies and individuals for an award using the same simple online form.
Entries and nominations must meet the necessary criteria to be allowed through to the voting stage. A secure online voting process will then select the finalists in each category, with the winners being the nominee that receives the most votes overall.
There are a number of exclusive sponsorship opportunities available at the awards ceremony and gala dinner, with options to suit a range of budgets. Logos of sponsors will be used in all marketing material throughout the event’s promotional build up, giving exposure to Datateam’s considerable print and digital subscribers.
The headline sponsorship has already been snapped up by Astute Electronics but there are many other opportunities still available. Publication manager, Amy Wilton, says: “The event will be attended by hundreds of industry professionals and market leaders We have been working hard on the awards preparation since the new year making sure the event is going to be the biggest and the best in the industry. We already have lots of interest in category sponsors and the race to secure them is going to happen fast!”
